further information: The Jimi Hendrix Tribute Stratocaster is a left handed guitar strung right-handed. It was meant for right handed players but can be used for leftys only by changing the strings upside down.

"Fender" was founded in 1946 by Leo Fender, with electric guitars made since 1948. Leo invented many very, very popular guitar designs: The Stratocaster is for sure the most popular electric guitar ever designed. Fender was purchased by CBS in 1965, who put up Fender for sale in 1984.
Until 1982 Fender guitars were made in the USA. In 1982 Fender Japan was established. They produced Fender and Squire (see "S-brands") guitars in Japan and later in Korea and China, with US-models still continued.
Today you can get Fender guitars from Japan, Mexico, USA, Korea.
The high grade professional guitars - mainly reissues of famous guitars - are made by the US Custom Shop.
There is much more to say about Fender. You can get more detailed information from various sources in the internet, in books etc.
